Let me introduce myself . . .
Hi! My name is Tracy Carey and I graduated in 1986 from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's in Art. I was a stay at home mom for 10 years, joyfully raising my two children, Peter and Brinne. I went back to school 2 years ago to earn my teacher's certification in art (grades K through 12).
I hope to bring my love of artwork and the joy of creating to each class and project. My belief for art class is that each child can produce meaningful, beautiful artwork. We all are not Picasso's or Monet's, but we're all great child artists!! (who wouldn't still love to jump into every project like a child does ?!?!)
My classes are filled with art information (art history, art elements and principles) and then the creation of their masterpieces.
Throughout the year, I hope to bring to each class a new idea in creating; be it in making art out of everyday items, seeing the world in a different way or just expressing themselves for the world to see!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions at: tcarey@bsd100.org
